email working for Explorer but not for Share

Hi,I'm new to Alfresco, just set it up and everything is working fine except for email from Share.I added my SMTP server settings into the alfresco-global properties file, and emails work ok from Explorer. But it doesnt work from share. I thought they both used the same settings, do I need to config

In what way is it not working? Are you seeing any error messages in your logs? If so, the relevant snip from the log file would be helpful in diagnosing the problem.

If your SMTP settings are set correctly in your global properties file, you should not need to do anything else to get outbound mail from Alfresco Share working.

Hi,

no errors in the logs. Its when I am inviting users to be a member of a site, I get the msg "1 invite set out, zero failures" but I never get the email.
However I just got system email with the subject "Alfresco Share: Recent Activities" so it seems to be just the emails to my invitees that are not getting out.

Email to invitees from Explorer does work.

Try adding this to your global properties:

notification.email.siteinvite=true

It sounds to me like site invite emails are just turned off.
