I'm using Alfresco 4.0B. It was working fine this morning suddenly my browser hangs so I thought it was my machine but when I checked the server to restart the alfresco service by typing sh alfresco.sh restart, it didn't work and I noticed that all scripts (.sh file) are read-only. So what I did is

Setting the permissions to 777 has given everyone on the machine the opportunity to interfere. Its wide open and vulnerable. It looks like something has changed your file permissions.

I already have the idea. Actually I have a snapshot of Alfresco on its previous settings. What I need to do is to transfer the updated database (postgresql) to the old running alfresco. My question is how can i pull the database (not working/existing Alfresco) and all the records to my old Alfresco (working)?
