    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hello All,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;We had Alfresco 3.4 (i think) with lots of documents around 3 Gb , i uninstall it since i thought nobody used it and reinstall latest 4 version &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;when users start to ask about access to alfresco i discovered the huge mistake i made, now luckily i did backup the data folder which is alt_data&amp;nbsp; i hope.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;My question how can i restore it and associate all docs with new system version installed ?, this is becoming very urgent .&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Please advice &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Thanks&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

You must have the content store, which is where the files live, and the database, which is where the metadata lives, to recover the repository. If you have both of those, then refer to &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Backup_and_Restore" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"&gt;this wiki page&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; to learn how to restore.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Jeff&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
