Alfresco 4 - Share AdvancedSearch for aspects

Can I set up advaned search for aspects like for types in Alfresco Share 4? I would like to be able select my aspect from the AdvancedSearch drop down ("Look for:").I've tried but no luck.

Hello,

at the moment, aspect forms are only supported as dynamically mixed-in form configuration for existing nodes. They will not work on model-type forms and - last I checked - you cannot reference an aspect form from advanced search configuration. Besides, the Repository FormService should fail when asked to generate a form, since it does not support aspect-only forms.

You could add the necessary support by proviuding the appropriate FormProcessor on the Repository tier and adapting the Form components on the Share tier, but this is a not-so-trivial endeavor on very different layers.

Sounds like too much work. I better just fix the existing content model and convert aspects to types where appropriate… 😕

OK an old post but this is still relevant AFAIK.

I don't see the point in encouraging developers to favour aspects over types (yes I get that its more 'agile') when Share's Advanced Search doesn't allow you to select aspects in the same way that you can select types.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
