Hi ,

just a simple and maybe easy question for all here. I´m new to Alfresco switching from Saperion. in the first step we only want to use alfrescos dm functions. Is it possible to use different content model for different spaces ?

Our dept collection needs another content model as our finace department. Is it right that i can define this in the content model xml ?

I know very basic question but hope someone can answer me that. thx in advance.

You would not touch contentModel.xml since that's alfresco provided configuration. However you
may consider adding your own types and aspects which you would add to your model.

Start by exploring what each department needs and in particular what overlaps and what is unique.

Assuming that you concude that you still want separate types in each folder then one way of doing that is to define a rule to run the "specialize type" action as content is added to each folder.

No. I mean its probably not a good idea to interfere with the alfresco models. Of course you can do it, and it will work, but that may cause a problem as and when you try to upgrade in future. I'm suggesting its a good idea to keep your models separate.
