Active Directory setup w/ community edition 3.4c

This is my first Alfresco setup, I've read through the documentation but it doesn't seem to correlate with the current release version-I'm looking for a nice walkthrough of how to setup AD integration with Alfresco, to test the software as a precursor to buying in. Can someone throw me a bone here?

Hey, just wanted to say I'm in a similar boat. I'm just starting to test out Alfresco and I'm trying to get it configured with Active Directory as well.

In my experience, most software like this is a little light on step by step instructions. Technically the installation guide has all the information needed, but it can be cryptic. Also, since LDAP configurations are specific to your implantation, their tends to be few guides. As far as I can tell almost all the initial settings are going to be done in the alfresco-global.properties file.

Not looking for step by step, just some pointers from someone who's set it up previously. Being enterprise software with a pay for version, my expectations are higher than other freeware.
