Did you raise an enhancement request in JIRA? If not, it's unlikely to have been added to the product backlog.

I've posted a ticket: http://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-9536

Unfortunately, I could not find the forum that had an excellent walk-through of customizing the json payload and the freemarker TLD modifications needed as well as Javascript adjustments you needed to do. If I come across it again from my notes, I'll update.
