I haven't seen a 2011 roadmap for feature enhancements and I'm wondering if there are plans for the datalist content type to offer through-the-web field definition? From what I gather, this content type just recently became customizable, albeit through XML. Our current eRoom users are accustomed to using web forms to create dictionaries (analogue of datalist) with a blank template, then defining the fields.
