The easiest way to do that is to import one that we have provided and then change it to meet your needs. If you want to be able to install your own site in many different places then you will need to export it as an "Alfresco Content Package" (ACP) file. You can read how to do that on the wiki.

From what I can tell the wcmqs is mostly for demonstrating how alfresco may be used for web content management. Is there plans to make this more of a "development tool' (i.e. ability to create blank web templates) for customization rather than importing finance or government and deleting all the existing files?

Is there a wiki or a how-to documentation? Will wcmqs replace the pre-existing web content management using the avm and deployment server through the alfresco explorer interface?

Peter Choe

Creating a blank site that can be used as a starting point would be quite straightforward. I'll see if we can get that into the next major release.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by your question about the wiki. Presumably you've already found this set of pages?

There are no plans for WQS to replace the AVM. They are quite distinct approaches to WCM, and requirements may push a given customer project in either direction. WQS is a coupled solution where the live web tier can take advantage of the repo behind it, whereas the AVM is generally a decoupled solution where the web tier has no repo available. WQS makes use of the core Alfresco repository unlike the AVM, and that repository is the focus of much ongoing development by Alfresco.
