topic Archival of old documents in Alfresco in Alfresco Archive

Environment:
Alfresco Enterprise 3.4.6 on JBoss EAP 5.1 / RHEL 5.5
Oracle 11g Database

For the primary content store, we are using a NAS box, which will be mounted on our application servers. We are expecting document count of around 10 million documents per month of 100 KB average size.

The business requirement is to store content for 12 months and then move it to an external archival where it should be retained for 10 years. After the initial 12 months, the meta-data should still remain in the live database (and thus searchable in Alfresco) but the file content has to be moved to an archive so that we reduce the storage costs. I am looking for an archival solution that will meet our business requirement and technical environment.

How can this archival requirement be met? Is setting up an external file system as another content store and using scripts to apply aspect on old content on a daily basis a feasible solution? Or is there any other straightforward way to do this? Please help.
