I think that you can't use Alfresco in this way, you should configure a cluster for this type of architectures.
You can't have two Alfresco instances with the same repository. But you can configure a cluster with a node with Alfresco web app and another with an Alfresco embedded.

Yes you can cluster the community edition.

Ok,
I have two instance of alfresco, in the alfresco-global.properties, database and repository folder is the same. How I can configure the cache and cluster? I read the http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Cluster_Configuration_V2.1.3_and_Later but I did not understand in simple mode how I can use this in community edition. Can you hel me ? THX
