I'm trying to install Community version 4.2.b on OSX Mountain Lion (10.8.2)The only java version I have installed is 1.7.0_09. I've verified the runtime version through preferences –> Java –> Java Control Panel.When trying to run the installer, I receive the following error:'There has been an

Hi,
try using Java SE 7 version 1.7.0_07.
It worked fine for me.

Hmmm… I'm running 1.7.0_07 and the installer is generating the same error that started this thread. I'd love some advice!

When I installed only Java 7 runtime on Lion, I got the same error message. You need to install Java SE, "JDK" instead of only runtime.

When I installed the following one, it worked.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/
Java SE Java Platform (JDK) 7u9

Not the following one.
http://java.com/en/download/

I have the jdk installed and I'm also getting the error message when trying to install Alfresco.

'echo $JAVA_HOME' => /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.7.0.jdk/Contents/Home.
