well I uploaded a few files probably about 30megs worth, created a few bits and peices…. nothing fancy. I just want it to be able to keep progress reports on my companies and have my family (staff) be able to talk to me business to business. so calenders, updates, document manegement. I was honestly thinking 500-800 meg of memory.

now my server is saying memory usage 1.7g and I woke up to all my websites are down and massive swap memory…. hmm this can not be right.

Hi all, and I am back quickly with another question. How much ram should be used? I had 750meg on my VPS I doubled that because had problems. I know see that it hovers around 1.2gig in use and carries on going up until my swap is used and that carrys on being used. I have read tons on memory leaks b

can you pinpoint what exactly is causing the memory usage? What OS are you running? If linux/unix variant, top, ps or equivalent should be able to tell you which process is using the memory.

And how have you configured your JVM with respect to memory? If you give it lots of memory then it will get used!

750 M is not enough to run everything associated with alfresco. I think the rule of thumb is a minimum of 4GB for a VM.
