    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In trying to get Alfresco working I installed on a fresh VM, and let Alfresco do all the set up. I then looked at the &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;/opt/alfresco-3.4.d/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties which had a definition on the line for the db;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;db.url=jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/${db.name}?useUnicode=yes&amp;amp;characterEncoding=UTF-8&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I pasted this into the alfresco-global.properties file of my live installation, restarted Alfresco and Presto! it worked.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Problem solved, I am up and running, remains now to set this up with a URL working from outside the network.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
