manual install for Ubuntu

Where can I download the .tar files for manual installations in Linux? I need the ability to create a different virtual directory, db name, and folder name for I plan to host 4 different Alfresco installs on the same box.

Its a zip file not a tar.

The Community V4 documentation is available on-line at http://docs.alfresco.com/4.0/index.jsp.
For a multi tenant installation under Ubuntu/ Tomcat you should check the wiki documentation at http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Multi-Tenancy.
You can access other pdf docs at http://www.alfresco.com/products/docs/.
For Ubuntu installation, forum postings https://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=39341 will help.
As Mike says, the installation files are in zip format so ensure you have the unzip options in your Ubuntu installation.

I'd suggest getting the base installation installed and operational, then create the additional tenancies.
