Hi all,
I'd like to know if it is possible, using Alfresco, handling an e-mail so that its attachments are automatically stored into the repository, and then another e-mail is sent back to the user with the UUID of the document.
In other words, the user will send an e-mail to a kind of fake Alfresco address, the Alfresco will trigger an action to extract and remove attachments from the e-mail storing them in the content repository, and forwarding the e-mail with the UUID of each attachment.
Anyone has worked with a scenario like this?
Any hint will be appreciated.

Thanks

Inbound SMTP email is the first part of your requirement, look on the wiki for details.

However there's no return email sent. You could use a policy to send the email notification. From memory, I think an "Emailed" aspect is added so you could use that. Or you could simply extend the email handler.
