Alfresco Document Management question

I've installed Alfresco on my local machine just to see what it can do. I need to create a portal for a client where his clients can upload tax documents. Obviously, no one should be able to see eachothers documents, only the administrator. Is there an ACL area where I can set up this type of scenar

yes you can set permissions on either the documents or the folders containing those documents.

Thanks for replying. Is this done manually for everything or is there a way to make it more automated so that a client can create their own folder and the permissions for it are set automatically?

You can use Alfresco Share, where you can create a site for each of your clients to manage their documents.
Customization can be done to make it more automated.
