i mapped a virtual directory in my windows explorer so i can upload files to the Alfresco server quickly.

however, it only works with English file names, if the file name contains Chinese character, it will prompt this error:

An error occurred copying a file to the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server.

Details:
200 Command OK
227 Entering Passive Mode (172,17,128,10,216,103)
426 Error during transmission

but it has no problem at all with English file names, I can also upload the Chinese named file through Alfresco web page with no problem. The same thing happened regardless my Windows is in English or Chinese.

Now I have to change the file name to English, upload, and then rename it back to Chinese on the FTP server.

Any idea please?

Have you raised an issue in JIRA? (issues.alfresco.com)

Also make sure you add more details, in particular what version of alfresco, which ftp client and whether your database is UTF-8. It would also help to have a bit more of your ftp log, in particular showing the filenames and commands you are trying to use.
