topic ldap in Alfresco Archive

I am running alfresco 3.4 and have configured ldap successfully. Users are getting synced properly and login works fine. We want to encrypt the password that is used during ldap sync and authentication. Does anyone know how to do that?
ldap.synchronization.java.naming.security.credentials works when using clear text password. Is there a way to encrypt the password? I know this will be a read only user, but we still want to encrypt the password. We are using Microsoft active directory. Any ideas/thoughts will be be appreciated.

Wiki says to use "DIGEST-MD5" for ldap.synchronization.java.naming.security.authentication instead of using "SIMPLE".
But what should be in the "ldap.synchronization.java.naming.security.credentials" field when we use "DIGEST-MD5"?
