stencils menu option not visible in activiti 6 UI

i was able to run activiti 6 beta4 – logged into localhost:8080/activiti-app. Within the kickstarter-app I see the menu option "processes" , "forms" , "decision tables" and "apps". Where can i see stencils option that i see in the alfreso activiti UI. In the opensource version do i need to do so

The stencils option is not available in the open source version.

Hi Greg,

I had downloaded activiti 6.X package from : Download Now | Activiti.org and deployed activiti-app and activiti-admin wars in tomcat and able to access both the UIs, but as asked by sriramcm, I am also not able to see stencil option.

So how can I publish and run my model from this downloaded package ? as previously there was activiti-explorer app available from which I am able to design and run my models.

OR is there any other download available in which these options are available ?

Currently I am using Activiti 5.15.XX version So before migrate to latest version, I want to evaluate it.

Can you please advice on this.

Hi Paresh,

Perhaps I am not understanding your question.

The Stencil (stencilset) feature is used to build custom activity types in the modelling palette. It is primarily targeted at custom services delegates to save developers the time to look up the correct parameters to feed into the services. It is really of very little use beyond that use case.

Unfortunately, this feature is not available in Activiti 6 Community Edition, but this shouldnt stop you from using the process modeler which is part of the activiti-app application.

The activiti-app application also allows you to import BPMN models that you may have built in the older version, but keep in mind, the user form implementation is not compatible with version 5 (explorer) and will need to be re-implemented from scratch.
