Hi,I'm looking for a feature to be sure a document can't be deleted before 12 years.I don't know wery well the RM application. Is it still usable with the Alfresco Explorer interface (on Alfresco Enterprise 3.2)?And is it possible to use only this feature and continue to work freely with all other c

You can use custom behaviour to achieve this. This is what the records management module also uses. See this article by Jeff Potts on how to configure your custom behaviour: http://ecmarchitect.com/images/articles/alfresco-behavior/behavior-article.pdf

Basically;
1. Configure a custom behaviour before content is deleted.
2. Either write a javascript or java code for your logic to determine if the delete should work or not.

Any good doc on RM are welcome, even in the Alfresco Network.
I think it exist a RM application for Alfresco Explorer interface and another application for the Share interface ?

The records mangement module is implemented only in Share as a Share site.

Retention works only for documents not for blogs, wikis, etc. in fact these are removed from the RM site. Users cannot define their own folder structures either, so I think that your best solution is to follow the previous post's suggestion.

It's not easy to know where to look for "official info"

Hi Alain

Depends what you mean by "official" information. With Community the official information does not have a single channel, but has the forums and wiki as the primary source of documentation and information. Customer's who subscribe to the Alfresco Enterprise edition have access to Network which gives then access to a number of different things including notifications on new products, etc.

The original RM amp for Explorer was never part of Alfresco Enterprise - it was Community only, so it was never supported by the Alfresco support team, hence the only information for this was on the wiki.

But what about the RM application based on share ? Is it part of the Enterprise version ? Looking in the Alfresco Network documentation, I didn't see doc on this ?

It is now part of the Enterprise Edition as on 3.2r released on 15th February, the documentation has been updated accordingly.

The Explorer RM AMP was Community only. Its status is clearly (I think) stated on its Wiki page. http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Records_Management_User_Guide
