Same question. I am part of a team working on an e-commerce framework project, and need to create a Digital Asset Management system to hold the assets for big sites. (We may end up using a complete third party service).

How have other people adapted Alfresco for Digital Asset Management ?

I know that Alfresco can do most of what we need at a low level like versioning and acting as a file repository, but doubt we have the time to put a RESTful front on it or to create a javascript front end to talk to it. Not least because I don't want to have to set up a Java or JS development environment again.

(PS Mark - did you work at DataLogic once ?)

Yes, blimey, DL. Did we start in the same week, so many years ago?

I saw an impressive presentation from one of our clients using Alfresco DAM for a major brand company a few weeks ago. However it doesn't seem to be publically available yet.

There are lots of reference sites for DAM however the term itself is fairly wide ranging so if you call sales they should be able to give a reference for something similar. Or even hurry up and publish the presentation I saw.
