Hello all. I have a new installation of Alf 3.2 Community on a Fedora 10 server using mysql. When I start up alf I get the dreaded Context Initialization Failed error with lots of details (non of which help me), and an http status 404 in a browser. You have

dir.root=/opt/Alfresco/alf_data‍

in Alfresco-Global.properties
and

dir.root=./alf_data‍

in repository.properties.

Is this OK?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I changed the dir.root in repository.properties to /opt/Alfresco/alf_data and received the same errors on startup.

I just checked the mysql database and there have been no tables created in it despite stopping and restarting alf 2-3 times. Might anyone know why this is occurring?

I have also set the index.recovery in repository.properties to both FULL and AUTO, with the same errors occurring when I start alf.

Can you log to your SQL database using the following parameters:

db.name=alfresco
db.username=alfresco
db.password=alfresco
db.host=localhost
db.port=3306‍‍‍‍‍

Is your MySQL database on the same computer as the Alfresco installation?

The database is on the same server as the alf installation. I was able to log in with the user alfresco and password of alfresco. Nothing unusual appears in /var/log/messages and /var/log/mysqld.log either, I'm really quite clueless at this point.

How did you install the Alfresco - what package did you use?

Have you tried again with a clean installation?

You don't get as far as using the database, the error reported from the logs is :

java.lang.ClassFormatError: LineNumberTable attribute has wrong length in class file org/apache/abdera/parser/stax/FOMPerson
Caused by: java.lang.ClassFormatError: LineNumberTable attribute has wrong length in class file org/apache/abdera/parser/stax/FOMPerson
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)

I've never seen or heard of anyone having that problem.

I see that you are trying to run on JBOSS, what version, and what version of JVM are you using?
