Can't preview created content of press release form

Hello,

Please give us some more details :
- Windows / Linux ?
- URLs that doesn't work
- Content of the file you downloaded : does this content look like the rigth one ?
- Do you have a proxy on your network ? Did you change anything in your host file ?

I'm just doing 'product evaluation guide' with 3.2r, I met several problems but at least it globally works. I am blocked at the section regarding deployment, I can hardly understand the concepts, but it's not related to your topic…

Hi…
I am new to alfresco. I am using alfresco 3.3g. I am practicing "Getting Started with Alfresco Web Content Management (WCM)" work guide. I followed the procedures guided and finally facing few problems:
1) I can able to preview the website successfully. When I click About US –> news –> I can see all the 3 Alfresco Press Releases. My problem is when I click any one of the release news (eg: say, InterDoc Chooses Alfresco to Deliver Solution for the Government of Quebec), I am getting an error
HTTP Status 404 - /media/releases/content/InterDoc_Alfresco_Solution.htm
The requested resource (/media/releases/content/InterDoc_Alfresco_Solution.html) is not available.
I can view the headings but when I clicked the title, it is moving to an error page stating that the html file is not present in that location.

2) Finally when i tried to deploy the whole project, i am getting an error:
Deployment Failed
06280017 Could not connect to remote deployment receiver, transportName:default, hostName:localhost, port: 44100

Hi…
I found the problem for my website preview problem. In the output pattern I used /${webapp}/media/releases/ content/${name}.xml..
An empty space between the pattern. Now I can preview the website properly.
Still I have a problem in deployment. In the Staging Sandbox when I clicked the deployment icon of Initial Import, it displays Deployment Failed
06300026 Could not connect to remote deployment receiver, transportName:default, hostName:localhost, port: 44100.

I had pasted the error message of web server below:
12:11:08,817 User:admin ERROR [avm.actions.AVMDeployWebsiteAction] Deployment Error
org.alfresco.service.cmr.avm.AVMException: 06300027 Deployment exception, unable to deploy : srcPath:sysvine:/www/avm_webapps, target:default, version:3, adapterName:default, hostName:localhost, port:44,100, errorrg.alfresco.service.cmr.avm.AVMException: 06300026 Could not connect to remote deployment receiver, transportName:default, hostName:localhost, port: 44100

Kindly suggest me to fix this deployment problem.

I think I had done all the settings discussed by you properly. Let me summarize it:
(1) Installed alfresco Community edition 3.3g in C:\Alfresco
(2) Started Alfresco Server.
(3) Started Alfresco Virtual Server.
(4) Installed Alfresco Standalone Deployment Receiver in C:\Alfresco\Deployment
settings in deployment.property file:

(5) Started Alfresco Standalone Deployment Receiver.
(6) Configured my Deployment Servers in my web project as:

After these, I had completely restarted all the servers. Still during deployment I am getting the same error Deployment Failed
06280017 Could not connect to remote deployment receiver, transportName:default, hostName:localhost, port: 44100

Kindly say whether I had missed anything or need to configure anything more.

I don't think it matters, but I would try to install the deployment receiver in a separate directory than those of Alfresco Server.
For instance, let Alfresco under c:\alfresco and install the deployement receiver under c:\alfresco_deploy.

Nevertheless I don't think it could be te cause of your problem.

I don't see anything wrong with what you've done. It should work.

Here which one you are mentioning as source and target servers?

I had installed both Alfresco Community Edition 3.3g and Alfresco-DeploymentCommunity-3.3-Setup in windows environment. I had installed only these two setups in windows. Do I need to configure any more?

I had started my standalone Deployment receiver (Windows) first and then the remaining alfresco tomcat server and virtual server and typed telnet xxx.xxx.xx.x 44100 in the cmd prompt (x—ip address)..
the message was: Could not open connection to the host, on port 44100…connection failed.
Can I know what is the problem in this?

Both source and target servers must have the same version of the deployment receiver running.

Is there a detailed error in the server log?

At last I found to deploy my web project by modifying the port to 50500 and Target name to avm… Now the deployment is successful. I dont have idea about why its not successfully deployed when I used the port 44100. If anyone have idea, kindly post…

Hi…
I hadn't setted an environmental variable for JAVA_HOME.. After setting up, now I can successfully deploy using the port 44100 (default). The logs folder are automatically created.

How did you manage to find this ? I have this Java_home variable on my system, but i had set it months before installing Alfresco. So it seems that i was lucky to see my alfresco runnning under port 44100, doesn't it ? Is it written in the docs that we have to set this variable ?

Hi winsenthil,

It is really strange to hear that you have not set your JAVA_HOME path variable.what i know without setting java-home we cann't run alfresco.There must be some problem with your deployment reciever.you should check log files of deployment reciever.deployment reciever should work with port 44100 which you have set during installation .You have also mentioned that deployment server was running with port 50500.i think it may be due to the rmi port configuration present in the alfresco-shared global.properties present in the opt/Alfresco/tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco.I am not sure.

Actually already I had setted java home environment variable… But due to some system config changes it was removed…
After having java_home, i can succesfully deploy using the default target (44100).

Had you installed DR???
If so, Check whether JAVA_HOME is setted properly as the environmental variable..
