Alfresco Explorer NTLM goes blank page

I have the same problem, Alfresco 3.3.1, active directory, SSO
SSO works from firefox, but in IE I have a blank page

turns out it's because I have apache with mod_jk in front of my alfresco
if I access alfresco directly, no problem
if I use apache and the rewrite rule, I can't do SSO with IE, I get the blank page, firefox has no problem either way
