Create Indexes without content ?

Hello,I created a "Stub" under Alfresco (node with contentUrl which point on content which does not exist in Alfresco).For this node "Stub", is it possible to create indexes without uploading content under Alfresco :?:Thank you in advance.

Dear Forum,

Somebody please to answer to my questions,

Supposing that I created a temporary contents under Alfresco, only to index it. Later, I deleted it while keeping a stub under Alfresco who point to the original content,
- is it possible for Lucene to use these indexes for the full text search ?
- How I can verify the existence of indexes on Alfresco? Is it from the Node Browser? Or other?
- How I can activate/desactivate the indexation by using the API Java?

Perhaps you should explain better what you mean by a "Stub".

You can have nodes without content and they will be indexed.    However you can't have a node with content "outside" of alfresco's management, that makes no sense.

As a concrete example you could have a "library system" based upon alfresco that stores metadata about books, possibly including a synopsis of the contents, image of the cover etc.    But the link back to the book is something like a reference number or a shelf location.   And the book itself is not stored in Alfresco - its a book!

In fact, it is exactly what I have and it is perfectly what you described by the example of the library.

My system is composed of Alfresco + Archive system.
By means of a button I launch the archive action of a document under Alfresco, the content is afterwards transferred to the Archive sys and on Alfresco I keep a link which point on the archived content in its new place (as the project CAStor connector for Alfresco, look http://forge.alfresco.com/projects/alfresco2castor/).

I hope that it is more clear now, do not hesitate any more if it is not the case .

Now, for my current project, I succeed the creation of "Stubs: link which point on the content in another place" under Alfresco for the documents of my Archive sys. My question is: how to index this content under Alfresco to benefit of its full-text search because I haven't it under my Archive sys?

Please, how can I logs (Have logs tracks) the action of indexation which makes Alfresco by default during the creation of a new node?
