Limits in interaction between Share & Explorer

Hi there, I am currently considering mixing the share and explorer usage in one installation. Specifically, I want to copy/move content objects into document libraries, which are then used via share. I started summarizing my questions and knowledge in a WIKI article. Answers here would help me a lot

As long as Alfresco does not provide a powerfull UI to manage documents directly in Share, you have to use Alfresco-Explorer. Even though the recently released 3.2 Version of Share introduces the ability to view and edit extented metadata (as well as aspects and so on), the most functionality regarding content is only available yet through Alfresco-Explorer.

The main piece missing from Share is rules. We are working on designs for this, so it will appear at some point.

If there's particular functionality you'd like us to prioritise, please raise an Enhancement request in JIRA.

Mike, i guess you mean only the management of rules. I suppose they still get triggered when a object is created or updated via Share?

Yes, that's correct - the Repository will still honour all normal rules functionality.

beeing greedy, I would interpret your answer and my guesses about

as follows:
* dont create/drop sites and 1stlevel folders in sites
* dont mess with access rights
* inside these 1stLevelFolders (/sites/<myShareSite>/<1stLevelShareFolder>/), go ahead, even rules get triggered

Do I get you right ? Do you know something about the other parts of my open questions ? (backup, Calendar, etc) ?

Updating the wiki page Alfresco_Share would be even better

As long as the objects are of type cm:content there shouldn't be any issues.

Mike, can objects also be subtypes of cm:content or do they all need to be cm:content. What about subtypes of cm:folder? Do they cause problems in share?
