Ok I have ubuntu server installed which is a very light install. Beyond the bin file I download and install which I use the embedded tomcat and mysql server, what apps do I need to install? shouldn't you check http://wiki.alfresco.com/w/images/a/a6/Alfresco_Community_3_4_a_Linux_Simple_Install.pdf first.

Thanks for the link but I have alfresco installed and running. I am asking what software will it be looking for that should already be installed on my system and not something that alfresco will install for me,

Hi,

well I think only software which it might look for is openoffice, but it is not required to work with alfresco. Any way all paths to some application can be find in repository.properties file.
