Has anyone managed to successfully connect yet?I'm currently trying to set up Sharepoint access on my local machine but having little success.. Office seems to recognise that a Sharepoint server exists but refuses to connect and connecting directly to http://localhost:7070/alfresco presents a login

Office 2008 has only very recently gained the ability to connect to SharePoint, so it's not something we've had time to debug yet - obviously there are some subtleties in the implementation we'll need to have a look at.

Is there any more word on connecting to alfreco sharepoint protocol via Office 2008 document connection? I just get "You do not have permission to connect" when trying - have tried both the default admin user and another user I have created. I am just connecting to copy of alfresco on my local machine and have tried with localhost and ip address.

There do not seem to be any logs generated by the connection process. I am happy to help out with degugging if there is some way to enable logging of the connection process.

I am using 3.2r2 and word 2008 12.2.3 on Snow Leopard 10.6.2

I get the same error 'you do not have permission to connect'.

there's a useful document at https://docs.rice.edu/confluence/display/ITTUT/Sharepoint+on+a+Mac+OS - doesn't give a lot of hope for interworking between OSX and Sharepoint though

I'm simply adding my voice to the growing number of users who are frustrated to discover that Alfresco's implementation of Sharepoint protocol works with MS Office on Windows but not from MS Office's Document Manager on Mac OS X.

If we can help in any way towards resolving this issue - through testing of proposed solutions etc. - we will. Where is the best place where can we join-in in the process of helping to resolve this issue?

Hello,

I linked some patches into the mentioned ticket.
The patches fixing problems with basic authentification and MacOffice 2011, implementing three new SOAP calls that were missing to provide directory and file listings in DocumentConnection and fixing a problem with the Checkout in DocumentConnection.

With that you can now do the follwing things with Document Connection from MacOffice 2011:

- Login (even with Basic Authentication
- Browse documentlibrary
- Open Documents for reading
- Upload Documents (with a bug that keeps them locked after upload)
- CheckOut Documents for editing

Things that are not working yet:

- Upload of documents without having them locked afterwards
- CheckIn Documents (after editing)

I tracked down the Upload issue but haven't found a fix yet but I can provide some details if that is needed.

So far I haven't got any reaction to that work, that's why I tried to explain here what I did.
If you want me to upload the patches somewhere else please tell me.
