I agree a clearer definition of what s not available would be useful. Something like a matrix.

I use the Step Editor mainly for human-centric tasks involving forms. Until 1.5 I used embedded forms. For assignments and routing i can access the form fields later in the process. They act like process variables, get an example "Assign Tasks - Embedded Forms" from https://www.dropbox.com/s/wotnuuqhbws2snj/Assign%20Tasks%20-%20Embedded%20Forms.zip?dl=0. Since 1.5 with variable mapping, I now use shared forms and map the form fields and variables with variable mapping. This allows me to create process variables and use them later on, including assignments, emails, but also other (shared) forms (via Input Mapping). Get the example "Assign Tasks - Shared Forms" from https://www.dropbox.com/s/uvx06lo85lneht2/Assign%20Tasks%20-%20Shared%20Forms.zip?dl=0 See the mapping in the start task but also click on the tab form of the Human Task to see the Input Mapping. Is the assignee field on the form you trying to use for assignment of type "People"? I think the drop down will only show the "people" form field types for single/candidate user assignments.

Ciju - exactly! I downloaded GreekYanni's demo, which showed me that exactly.
This now works.
