    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;No that doesn't work either.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I don't believe that its a rsync error/issue.&amp;nbsp; ITs the Alfresco share doesn't support the extensions for the client to define who owns the file and other file details.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Interesting.. now way to migrate the data with out writing a special program.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Anyone willing to share what they wrote with the rest of us?&amp;nbsp; That could be posted to the Alfresco wiki.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Cifs and samba are two protocol implemetnations of the same protocol to transmit files. rsync is a tool to move files over file protocol, so it should work here as well. One note of care - be sure to do the moves in small hopps, as you can see in this forum. Dont try to import all 100 GB (or whatever) at once.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Another thought - spend some time analysing your data, maybe you find some things you want to sort out befor import - content types, categorisation, extra import filters for metadata … this kind of stuff&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Norgan&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;No that doesn't work either.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Where is what I tried.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Mount the CIFS volume to the local filesystem&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;As root #mount.cifs \\server\Alfresco /mnt/Alfresco -o username=admin,password=xxxx&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;As root# rsync -vaz /local/home.dir/ /mnt/Alfresco/User Homes/&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Rsync works copies the files to the Alfresco User Home share but::&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Problem is that each of the files are now owned by root, have the same creation date as the time I ran rsync.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Is this one of those deals with the paid version there is a tool to do this and the community version there is not?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Who have other people migrated to Alfresco?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
