Unable to authenticate to CIFS on 3.2 install on Vista

Hi, I've got a brand spankin' new installation of 3.2 … no config changes … on Vista SP1. Everything seems to start up just fine, but when I try to browse Alfresco via CIFS I am unable to authenticate as admin/admin. I have not disabled windows smb on this machine, but I don't think I have to?I am

map a networkdrive to

\\workstationname\alfresco

(no A)
(or \\IP\alfresco)

Hm…doesn't work. "The network name cannot be found."

then use the IP to map the networkdrive, thats how I do.

\\IP_OF_ALF_SERVER\alfresco

Nope. I tried the IP too, in which case I still can't authenticate.

The problem isn't really in connecting. The problem is authenticating.

Installed on Ubuntu 8.04 and I can connect via CIFS and authenticate as admin just fine.

Don't know what the issue with Vista is. I don't want to disable SMB…I thought Alfresco could work with native SMB?

It is necessary to disable SMB over TCP/IP (known as 'native SMB' on the Wiki) on a windows server before CIFS will work correctly. This is due to a clash between the Alfresco and Windows services. See
