Can't open office docs over CIFS in 3.2

No matter what I do, opening Office docs via CIFS tells me that the document is in use by 'another user'. From what I can derive from Jira, this was also a problem in 3.1 SP1 and subsequently fixed in 3.1 SP2.Is there a patch for 3.2 that I can install? I'm hoping to convince my company to switch

Same problems still occur in 3.3. I just downloaded and installed it and easily reproduced the issue. Of course, the dates on the so-called "nightly" builds are from almost 2 weeks ago (circa August 11th).

I'm ready to try building and installing from source. Does anyone know whether the fix for Office 2007 has been applied to head? Without this fix, I'm going to be stuck with SharePoint.

I'm ready to try building and installing from source. Does anyone know whether the fix for Office 2007 has been applied to head? Without this fix, I'm going to be stuck with SharePoint.

It's not yet. I'm waiting for that one too to finally have a completely working build.

Thanks for taking the time to comment Ivan. Is there anything I can do in the mean time? I guess I should prepare by setting up a build environment.

One more question, what's the roadmap/timeline to 3.3? Even if I compiled from source (once the patch is in), my organization won't be able to switch to Alfresco until we can move straight to a release. A patched 3.2 would also be fine, but the Jira ticket seems to indicate that the fix will be made to 3.3 only.

Any info is appreciated, thanks in advance.
