Accessing a custom repository webscript from the Browser

I am using Share to deploy custom YUI widget. From the browser I am calling a custom repository webscript to access categories and nodes. The browser prompts for authentication. I assume the right way is to pass the login ticket. How do I get the ticket and pass it to my YUI widget from the Shar

You need to use the proxy servlet provided by Surf. Look at any of the existing Share code for examples, e.g.

Alfresco.constants.PROXY_URI + "api/node/" + record.getData("nodeRef").replace(":/", "") + "/content/thumbnails/doclib?c=queue&ph=true"‍
