I just want to have a local copy of the "Alfresco Community" logo image that still directs users to Alfresco. So, I know where the image directory is but where is the footer??

Please feel free to include your own copyrights to the footer, but the Alfresco logo and copyright must remain intact and be present at the very bottom of the page.

I have no issue retaining the copyright notice, but I would also like to have a local copy, I use https proxy (with apache) so the Alfresco pages are encrypted to the outside, the problem is the logo is directly referenced on the website, this poses a security warning in Internet Explorer which asks you on every page
"Do you wish to display both secure and non-secure items on this page?"

As you can imagine this is hardly userfriendly nor is it good practice (or even feasable) to disable this security feature on every pc which will use the Alfresco site.

That's the Same issue I am trying to avoid. I have placed my application behind a securer link and there is an issue with the image not displaying.

Finally the bug I reported got someone assigned to it.
Looks like they will try to solve it with hosting a https version of the image.

Read the bug report for my issues with that..

I think it's a bit of a shame they want to hold us in their grasp in this way.
Also this kind of tracking of installations gives serious problems incase anyone wants to setup a LAN only Alfresco.

Tell you what - contribute something to the project in some way and you can make unhappy noises with some justification. We're paying world-class developers to work on this, so we have to encourage people to contribute code or cash.

We're not holding anyone in any "grasp", the code is open source and you can use it for free. Yes, there are some caveats on using it, but you're perfectly free to use other software.

Whinning isn't contributing.

Seriously, engage with us and stuff gets sorted - there's plenty of people that have that experience with us.

Well even if I wanted to help, there just doesnt seem to be any desire to fix this problem if it causes the loss of tracking abilitity.

I'm not afraid to step in, it just seems there is a tight group of developers which have their own way of communication and in that channel it apparently was decided to solve this bug by hosting a SSL version of the image Alfresco displays on the page.

Also I realize the footer is indeed something you have to be carefull not to mess around with seeing how it contains most of the legal rumpslump which I'd rather avoid putting my finger only to get it bitten off later if it turns out I poked it a bit too hard.

Ok, I have submitted a patch on the bugreport.

First thing I want to do now is apologize, I know I was out of bounds (a bit ) but I am having some pretty bad moods. Entirely my fault so I apologize to you Paul.

And I will try to give more constructing criticism next time.

In the 10/18/2006 posting at 2:12PM by red15 the word 'tracking' is used.
This will raise a red flag with some potential users.

Does Alfresco indeed track sites.
If so, is this only for the 'Community Edition', or for all editions.
