topic Track changes made to Space/Folder via versionable in Alfresco Archive

I know documents have versioning, but can spaces have versioning too? I didnt find any problem attaching the "versionable" aspect to the space but wasnt able to see the version number increment because of a change in the property.

Ideally I would like to treat Alfresco as a proper version control say like Subversion and if there are documents added/deleted from the space, a new version of the space should be creates. Does this have to be implemented as a custom functionality or does this exist already and I havent searched hard enough.

I will not discuss if this is the right way to do this or not, even if I find it is quite a strange requirement …
I think you could add a rule add/update on incoming documents and increment the version of the space, a simple script would do it. However, that is much more complex if you want to have a behavior incrementing the space version on a property edit.

Regards,
Daniel
