topic CIFS Save of a (Working Copy) breaks Lock - can not check in in Alfresco Archive

This problem is already described in https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-2028 and it is a very annoying bug.

I try to introduce Alfresco in my company by showing the users how easy it is to work with CIFS mapped folders. But this bug, which happens when working with MS Office files, does not allow our users to fully experience working with Alfresco the CIFS way. This bug appeared in version 3.2 and is still there in version 3.3 (Community edition).

If I understand correctly this bug is fixed in Enterprise Edition, but will it remain in Community edition forever? It's hard to get people interested in new software when basic functionality does not work.
No offense.

Thank you for your answer.

No you don't understand correctly. It will be fixed before Community 3.4 is released.

It will probably be merged to HEAD soon, but the Enterprise version was only released yesterday and Community 3.3G is blocking merging at the moment.

Edit - I just checked this. It may already be on HEAD in which case it will be in 3.3 G. I say **may** because it looks like there could have been some merge issues. Could someone check whether the nightly build suffers from this problem?

Hi,

I had the same issue with Enterprise 3.2r. Yesterday I have upgraded to Enterprise 3.3 and can confirm that it has been fixed in this version (don't know about the Community version though).

Best regards
