port 8080 on 3.2r

am installing alfresco on opensuse 11.3. it does not give me the option of choosing the port i want to use(unlike other installations like in windows). how do i go about this? was this an omission in the installer package?

The HTTP port used by Alfresco is configured in the application server (which is Tomcat, if you're using one of the installers).

For Tomcat, this is configured in ${ALFRESCO_HOME}/tomcat/conf/server.xml (note: I'm going from memory, so may have the folder or file name a little off).

So, if I want to change the port, I only have to change the port in the server.xml?

Yep that's correct. More information is available on the Tomcat site at http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/config/context.html.
