You can't install the dod5015 AMPs on Alfresco and Share 3.2.

You need Alfresco Community 3.2r for the records management.

Now I have installed Alfresco Community 3.2r. Based on the help file I should find a dashlete called Records Management however I can find no such one. The site dashlete also has nothing about records management in it. Something I'm missing?

The RM dashlet is a User Dashlet - login as "admin" and look at "My Dashboard"

with Alfresco 3.2.

did this with apply amps.bat and when restarted, the server crashed

Am I doing sth wrong ?

Is there a Records Management version that works ?

thanks for your quick reply, however

i have tried all of these versions and nothing works with Alfresco 3.2 (not 3.2r2)

i have also tried to install alfresco 3.2r2 and seems to be broken. After quite a few tries
i found that Alfresco-Community-3.2r2-OOo-Setup.exe is the one working and not the full installation file.

so how can i install Records Management in an existing Alfresco 3.2 installation ?

will i need to upgrade to 3.2r2 first ? or is there a quicker (safer) way to have records management in the alfresco explorer ?

Forget the old Records Management amp.

You'll need to upgrade to 3.2r2 and then install the DoD5015.2 amps. The DoD5015 module will *not* work on any version of 3.2 prior to 3.2r

So to be clear, I am running 3.2 Enterprise–not beta. I there currently no RM amp that will work on this? The above error is essentially the same one I get. Is there an ETA on this? RM is heavily touted in the website and it is the key piece of functionality we need.

3.2 Enterprise Records Management is planned for end of February, so you donm't have long to wait. Keep a look out for the announcement.

I have upgraded Alfresco 3.2 to Alfresco 3.2r2 successfully but
when i install the RM module the RM site doesn't show up in Alfresco Share.

Any ideas why this happens ?

Is it possible that the installation of Alfresco in a folder other than "c:/Alfresco"
is causing the RM module installation to not show up the RM site on Share?

the installation seems to finish successfully and Alfresco starts normally afterwards
even with the MMT tool everything seems to be installed ok

but there is nothing to suggest that RM is installed in Share

is there a script i can run so that the RM site, together with groups and module can be created ?

i have done that and there is nothing in "My Dashboard" nor in the "Customize Dashboard" for the RM Dashlet.
but also there is no RM site.

How can i create them and use the RM functionality?

Did you install both amps? i.e. one into alfresco.war & one into share.war.

yes i did
i also checked to see if both are installed on the war files with the MMT tool.
and moreover i installed the RM using the installer and manually with the MMT tool.

I have know idea why it doesn't show up!

did several installations of alfersco and only got it working the first time. Am i missing sth here ?

got it to work fine now
i unistalled all alfresco previous installations together with jdk
and reinstalled it.

Everything works fine now including the upgrade of Alfresco 3.2 to Alfresco 3.2r2 + RM

don't know what was wrong but it's working now.

If it helps at all, here's what I did to get the records management module working. Mind you, I'm still evaluating Alfresco myself so I uninstalled and reinstalled several times until I got it right. If you already have information stored in your Alfresco database, you may want to make a backup of your data. Although I feel comfortable with many computing tasks compared to the peers of my age, I am not network administrator or certified technician and will attempt to write for a basic computer user as well.

I started with a fresh install of Alfresco Community 3.2r2 Full Setup (I'm on Windows)

I immediately ran the AlfrescoRMCommunity 3.2r2 Setup

I made sure to install to the same directory

After both installations are finished, start the Alfreso server from your Start button and let it do its initialization sequence

From the Start menu, click on Alfresco Share, this will open up your preferred browser, which, if you're hosting your server on your own hard drive, should be found automatically and you will see a login screen for Alfresco

The first login is: Admin
The password is whatever password you picked when installing Alfresco Community

Once logged on, you will see the user dashboard. At this point, you will not see the records management function on your dashboard screen. This is because you have not activated the RM module as an active "dashlet" on your dashboard.

The center "dashlet" should be your Getting Started box, which will contain a link to Customize Your Dashboard. Click "Customize Dashboard"

From this screen, you will need to click "Add Dashlets", which will pop up a small box with potential dashlets you can use to populate your dashboard.

One of the dashlets is "Records Management Config", click and drag this text to one of the columns below to your Active Dashlets. You can specify where you want the Dashlet to appear in your dashboard by picking out the column and order in which your dashlets appear. When you're finished, click "OK" at the bottom.

You should return to your dashboard and the Records Management dashlet should appear where you placed it amongst your other dashlets.

Hi,

How about Mac or Centos? It seems RM works fine on Windows as long as you try. But I have not had any luck with Mac or Centos.

The MMT jar does not seem to work. The version I am trying to install is 3.2r2. For 3.3, the installation would not end after I clicked install button for RM.

Your help is greatly appreciated.
