Something just occurred and I can no longer sign into Share. when I try I get an error message "The remote server may be unavailable or your authentication details have not been recognized." this even includes the admin user. this is not good it leaves the server dead. any ideas or help in any wa

Hi Michael,

I guess that somehow the value of the share.port property in the sysadmin-parameter.properties file (which is located in TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/subsystems/sysAdmin/default) has changed/dissapeared

By default it is set to 8080, so changing it should be enough to get share working again. You'll have to restart Alfresco after the change.

Thanks, that was not it.
I had changed /opt/Alfresco/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties
share.port=8080 to share.port=

I changed this back and it was fine, now the odd part. I changed this 3 weeks ago and all seemed fine.
I have restarted the system a dozen times over the last 3 weeks.

So I fixed it, but I don't understand how it has worked all this time.
