Do you have Kerberos setup and using version 3.3g? Then this may be your issue http://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-3071
Try 3.4.a, or the latest Enterprise version. It should work.

And add alfresco.log with error, always easier to help if you do. And specify you environment. linux or windows makes a big difference when it comes to cifs, windows is harder since it has native cifs that compete with Alfresco cifs.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the details you are asking about:
* Alfresco 3.2 Enterprise
* Server is running on a RedHat box
* Kerberos not setup, but we do have SSO through Active Directory

I'm not aware of any issue with that Enterprise version, but since you are running Enterprise I suggest that you contact Alfresco support.
