After going through the features provided by Alfresco 3.3 Share and Explorer, it seems that Share still lacks Advanced document search and Advanced workflow management.

According to Future roadmap these features will be released in Q4 2010, so we have to wait

Or it may be the case that Alfresco will replace current workflow engine jBPM with
new Activiti.

Within share can I create my own portlets ?

can someone point me to how I might do that.
The product seems to do 84% of what we require, seems I could write the other parts.
