    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The issue turned out to be that alfresco was being started by a created user(jboss). In the custom-email-server.properties file, the email.server.port was set to 25. The jboss user did not have permission to bind to that port. I changed it to port 1025 and now alfresco starts.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
