CMIS API for IBM FileNet P8 available?

Hi,is there already a CMIS compliant API for P8 available from IBM? Where can I get it to run OpenWorkdesk Community Edt. against P8? Is there any possibility to test it against a P8 system somewhere in the cloud?Thanx greco

Hi greco,

all I can tell you for now is, that the OpenWorkdesk development team could already test OpenWorkdesk Community Edition on top of an IBM FileNet P8 system via CMIS API in the cloud.

Right now, we are talking to IBM as an official IBM Business Partner, if we could deliver OpenWorkdesk with the needed settings, to connect against their cloud.

We will let you know, when and of course how you can test your OpenWorkdesk deployment against P8 via CMIS.

Hi greco,

IBM is working hard on the implementation of an CMIS API (REST and WS), if you or your company are IBM partners may be you can request access to it.

The problem that IBM (and we) have, are some inconsistency in the CMIS 1.0 spec, for exmaple the full text search definition known as issue #660 http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/CMIS.

Got the info from IBM today that they work hard to make a CMIS API test system available in the cloud for the public soon. In our lab the OpenWorkdesk is already performing very well against the CMIS services of FileNet P8 so I hope we can offer you such a trial together with IBM very soon.
