I put mine in an environment variable called JAVA_OPTS which the app server will automatically pick up. Here's the current value of my JAVA_OPTS variable:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;-Xms128m -Xmx512m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -server&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;These are fine for me in development but will obviously need tweaking for your environment, especially for production!&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Jeff&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
