If this concept is not possible through iframes, is there any other way to accomplish it?
3. Will I get any support from the FTL to include this toolbar in iframes?
This isn't an Alfresco issue, it's to do with how you're embedding MS Word. I'd advise experimenting first with a very simple static HTML page containing an iframe and have a look around Microsoft's MSDN site for pointers on how to embed Word.

Thanks,
Mike
