Change Type dialog on share

HiI've created a content sub-type. I can create content of this type using the older alfresco interface. I've modified the form so I can view the extra metadata of this type in Share. But I don't see how to make the type appear in the Change Type dialog.Having half-understood a blog, I tried to copy

It will only display your type in the drop-down for documents of type cm:content.

Once you changed a document type to your custom type it will not provide a selection any more for that document.

Try with a document of type cm:content - if your custom type wont show up then there is something else wrong.

Option to switch between document-types:
Depending on the aspects / properties your custom type is using it might not be advisable to provide the option to switch back to cm:content, but if you want to try this just add a section in the types.get.config.xml

<type name="opkorg:person">
       <subtype name="cm:content"/>
</type>‍‍‍

as said just to try out - not advisable - don't know the side-effects of this

You need to change the C:\Alfresco33\tomcat\shared\classes\alfresco\web-extension\share-config-custom.xml file.

This dropdown list show only subtypes of cm:content then you need put this string

   <type name="cm:content">
       <subtype name="cc:customcontent"/>
   </type>

where customcontent is your subtype…

Hi

I was also trying to add an option for the change type drop down and i added it successfully but when i try changing the type it shows a message telling the type could not be changed …

is there a way to associate the custom type to some of the metadata so that if i change the type then automatically the metadata should get added to that particular document..
