Alfresco and Active Directory Group permissions

I'm trying to understand how Alfresco works in regards to active directory and groups. Does alfresco support active directory permissions or will custom permissions need to be crafted once the users are imported from active directory?

You can sync active directory groups into alfresco. You can then base alfresco's permissions on those groups.

Hello Mr. Mrogers,

I am Lakshmanan C B and a new to Alfresco Open Source.

I have gone through Alfresco Document and Gained some information on how
Alfresco and Active Directory are integrated and authentcated.
Now my aim is to know in detail how role or permission is managed
once Alfresco is integrated with Active Directory.
What are the different types of roles or permissions that affects both
Alfresco and Active Directory?

Please help me to sort out the above doubt.
