Hi all i realize that there is new improved release of record managment in version 3.2r of AlfrescoThis release introduces a DoD 5015.2 certified Records Management module.I could't find is there also need to install amp file for 3.2?Or is enough just simple alfresco installation?But when i login in

Hi thanks i read the guide and install module on my alfresco instance and now i am trying to start configure my implementation.
I have another question if u could help me.

I can create new series-new categories, but i get error when i try to upload file.
In share my button is disable.
In alfresco i get the next error A system error happened during the operation: 09270009 Can not add content nodes to a records management category or series, please add content to record folder

Can someone help me with these error.

You can only file new records into Record Folder types, not Series or Category types. This is a limitation imposed by the DoD5015.2 specification and it's strict hierarchy: Series->Category->Folder->Record.

One other point: we neither support nor recommend that you access the RM Site via the Alfresco Explorer client.

Now i am looking for some really good guide how to extend my metadata fileds.Can u linked me some good post or some tutorial.
Please.
And i have another question i have already the structure of my folder and subfolder done in alfresco.I made a acp file.
Can i import those structure to share and if how?
or do i need it done in share all over again?

Can you explain something about the risks here?
Is adding content via the webservice (or comparable) API also not recommended?

In theory, there should be no difference as all the services underneath are protected by the core permissions and RM rules implementations.

Just bear in mind that the DOD certification was completed via the Share interface only, therefore that's the only one that we guarantee passes the DOD tests.

I am working on a project that I manage my content with alfresco. And for long term archiving requirements I plan to use Records Management. Till now I was trying to declare a content(/file) as record from the Alfresco Explorer client. I tried several ways (including copying files to Company Home > Sites > rm > documentLibrary>…) but all failed. But now I am a little confused with your reply:

Is content management and records management modules not integrated modules? Am I unable to archive(move file to the records management module) a file at the end of a workflow?

I'm sure you can add content to the RM records folders via the other interfaces. But as Mike points out the testing was done primarily through the share interface. And I'd add that there was also testing through the imap interface and if its going to work through imap then it will work through the other interfaces. Obviously what you won't be able to do is use the RM UI features so for example you won't be able to edit the disposition schedule or use the RM actions through the explorer interface.

Declaring a record through code should be O.K. as well. For example to declare a record from a workflow you can move your record into the rm document library and then use the RM Action service to run the declare action. You will find code in the RM unit tests that do that sort of thing.
