You say you've re-installed Alfresco - does that mean you have removed or changed the location of the alf_data directory? The errors you are seeing are related to the fact that the indexes cannot be found - they are stored in the alf_data directory. Generally you find it under tomcat/bin. Are you starting tomcat from a different start location?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi, Kevin!

Yes, I've installed once, but I went through some problems with Tomcat, so I uninstalled and reinstalled Tomcat several times. I followed the same steps in order to get Alfresco installed (well, I skipped the database part since I didn't touch it since the first time), but this time I get a different result.

Well, I've installed Tomcat in another location, so I guess we could say that "alf_data" directory has been removed from the original location and now it's placed in a folder with a path different from the path of the very first time.
So… I think I've lost that indexes…

Regards.

I was able to run alfresco using the bundled Tomcat. Next I tried deploying the alfresco.war on a stand alone version of Tomcat 5.5.16. Alfresco is successfully started but I'm unable to login using the default admin/admin. I then droped the database and recreated it and it worked.

Why is that? Why do I've to drop & recreate the database?

Thank you.

If I configure a replicating content store with secondary store as a common store(say a database for which I have DBContentStore implementation) whose location never changes but primary store location may change and its content and indexed may be empty. This will happen if I embed alfreco in my application which runs in a cluster on different machines.

When I try the above setup I am getting Bad Credentials exception when I start embedded alfresco with a different file store backed by central db store.

Thanks in advance for your help
dReddy
